MALAWI PRISON, UNDP LAUNCH ELECTRONIC COURT.

The Malawi Prisons Service  together with United Nations Development Program has on April 24, 2024 launched an electronic court.

Malawi Prisons Service Commissioner General, Masauko Wiscort has said the e-court is very significant because the service is facing a lot of challenges including congestion.

Speaking on the same, the UNDP resident representative, Fenella Flost has said as now is the e-court has come to help the government save some costs as it is already struggling with finances.

She further disclosed that this is just one of the steps that UNDP is taking to take justice service closer to the population.

She closed with a promise that going forward, UNDP will continue to help Malawi in many of its projects in as far as digital transformation is concerned.

The launch has seen 8 sites have been established in the first phase of this e-court initiative.
