The Ministry of Education in Partnership with Malawi Institute of Education holds a National Education Conference on School and College Curriculum and Assessment review.
The secretary for education Dr Mangani Chilala Katundu presided over the conference. Dr Katundu urged the participants to take it as an opportunity to their input on the curricula.
He also added that the Ministry is looking at improving the curriculum and research as is a key information source for improvement.
Making his remarks Dr Limbani Nsapato country Director for Edukans and Malawi chairperson for civil society Coalition said the conference will take a stoke as Malawi and there are complaints that children are not getting right skills and quality of Education good enough and this review will give a room to see if the curriculum can achieve the vision of 2063
Executive Director for Malawi Institute of Education, Dr Mtemang’ombe said that the conference will give the stakeholders an opportunity to give their insights of what to include and what to exclude.
The Conference has brought together academia, education administrators, researchers, development partners and other key stakeholders.
