In preparation for the upcoming 2023 Hollywoodbets Cosafa Cup in Durban, South Africa, Malawi National Football Team’s interim coach, Patrick Mabedi, has unveiled a 25-member squad. The majority of the squad consists of local players, with only two players, Chawanangwa Kaonga and Chifundo Mphasi, based in Zambia. Additionally, two players from Bullets Reserves, Austin Chirambo and Crispin Mapemba, have also earned their spots.
The Flames, placed in Group B alongside Zambia, Comoros, and Seychelles, will kick off their campaign against Zambia on July 6, followed by a match against Seychelles on July 9. Their final Group stage encounter will be against Comoros on July 11. The team is scheduled to depart for South Africa on Tuesday morning.
