Mangochi Football Association has expressed a satisfaction with the progress of Mpopera bonanza which is now moving to another level after a tough competition from four Zones in the district.
Speaking to Angaliba on Sunday, November 12 2023 at Kwiputi community ground in Namwera after presenting Cash to the teams which have performed well at zone level,Mike Bwanali who is vice chairperson of Mangochi Football Association said that is impressed to see that the bonanza is taking place smoothly without challenges.
“This is a sign that local football teams are now propery adhering to football rules a thing which will help to develop football in the country.”Bwanali said.
He also disclosed that the intended purpose of disseminating information about Malaria fight through spraying chemicals in houses has been more successful as the matches are being attended by more people who are able to get the massages.
In Makanjira zone Lukono Mancity emerged the champions after beating Lulanga 2 goals to zero,In Namwera Zone Ngamba FC took championship after beating We Hear FC a goal to zelo,Napele FC at Boma zone has also moved to another level after defeating Hardnockers 1_0 and in Namkumba zone Makawa young Navy won against Namiyasi FC 3 to 1.Each team got K350,000 cash and the winners will compete at district level.
With a support from the Global Fund , World Vision Malawi is embarking on an Indoor Residual Spray (IRS) project in the three districts of Mangochi, Balaka and Nkhatabay.
Currently health authorities from Mangochi District Health Office have commended the spraying initiative saying has contributed much towards reducing Malaria cases in the targeted districts.
