South African Air Force Association Launches 80th Anniversary Celebrations

The South African Air Force Association (SAAFA) has officially launched its 80th-anniversary celebrations, marking a significant milestone in its history. The commemorative events, themed “Our Legacy,” will span throughout 2025, reflecting on the organization’s rich heritage and contributions to aviation.

The celebrations aim to honor the legacy of the men and women who served and sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The theme, “Our Legacy,” emphasizes the association’s commitment to its four core pillars: heritage, remembrance, support to aviation, and fostering a strong community among members.

Ms. Nompumelelo Mahlangu, a spokesperson for the event, highlighted that the anniversary will feature a series of activities, including ceremonies, exhibitions, and community engagement initiatives. These events will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about the association’s role in supporting the South African Air Force and preserving its history.

The SAAFA’s enduring mission is to uphold the values of aviation, honor the sacrifices of past members, and inspire future generations to contribute to the nation’s defense and aviation sectors.
