Malawi Police says has brought back all the road blocks which were removed as a way of tightening security in the country.

Merlyn Yolamu who is Inspector General of Malawi police services disclosed this in Mangochi district during a meeting which was conducted with the men in unform from eastern region.

Yolam said that road blocks play an important role in the fight agains criminal cases by controlling the movement of thugs and also equipments that are used for stealing.

She mentioned an incident in lilongwe where traffic officers have recently arrested men who were found with a gun saying without a road block those people would have been gone to where they wanted to do their evil acts.

She therefore said that the police has reopened all the road blocks which were dormant.

According to Yolam security officers who will be available in all road blocks include ;a CID officer ,PMS officer and a Traffic officer.

After being asked on the fears of corruption from the officers, the inspector general said that it is the responsibility of every Malawian to end the Malpractice as the corruption problem is existing in more departments of government and also even in private sectors.

Malawi has been registering more cases involving the killing of people and the minister of security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma ordered Malawi Police to seriously act on the matter.
