MULANJE POLICE HUNT FOR GRANNY’S KILLERS.

Police in Mulanje are hunting for unknown criminals that allegedly killed an old woman in her house.

This happened on the night of June 14, 2023 at Gulumba village in Traditional Authority Chikumbu in Mulanje district.

It is reported that Mary Chinomba( deceased) was a farmer and staying alone at her house. On that mentioned date, she was not seen the whole day until 17:00 hours when she was found dead in her house.

Upon receipt of the matter, Mulanje Police rushed to the scene and verified the incident. It was further noted that her chickens and rabbits which she reared were missing.

She was taken to Mulanje District Hospital where death was certified and postmortem examination conducted by the medical practioner disclosed death as due to suffocation secondary to strangulations.

Meanwhile, police officers are on ground to arrest the killers.

Therefore, police in the district have urged members of the community to inform police if they can find or hear someone selling the stolen livestock.

Mary Chinomba hailed from Gulumba village in Traditional Authority Chikumbu in Mulanje district.
