The Ministry of health has embarked on the second phase of polio vaccine campaign to run from 12 to 15 July his year across the country.
Speaking during a media briefing, the public relations officer for the ministry, Adrian Chikumbe said the oral vaccine exercise will be carried out from house to house.
He further urged parents and guardians to vaccinate their children under 15 years of age, in order to reduce further spread of polio in Malawi.
World Health Organization representative Dr Boston Zimba added that the exercise is targeting under 15 children, as they’re considered the highest carriers of polio.
He said, children that already received the vaccine on the first phase are encouraged to receive the second phase.
