In an effort to improve nutrition and health of primary school students, Zomba District Agricultural development office with support from World Food Programme on Tuesday day reached out primary schools in Zomba with food and food preparation training.
According to acting communication officer in department of extension and nutrition of Zomba district agricultural office Chikondi Mngerezi, the office donated food and trained school officials on how to prepare various nutritious.
She said trainings were conducted to ensure that students are fed with food containing four food groups.The food prepared during training were Soya with porridge, rice with porridge,rice with beans and futali.
She added that the programme aims at improving well being and performance of primary school students in Zomba.
The programme is being funded by World food Programme.
