Fomo Football Club has named Elvis Kafoteka as interim coach after the team’s disappointing performance in the TNM Super League. Head coach Gilbert Chirwa and his assistant, Luckson Nyoni, were suspended last week due to the team’s ongoing struggles.
Jimmy Maloya, the club’s General Secretary, stated that they have approached the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to seek approval for Kafoteka to lead the team. “We are requesting FAM to permit Kafoteka to coach, even though he lacks the CAF B licence required for Super League teams,” Maloya explained.
Kafoteka previously served as an assistant coach for Chitipa United. Currently, Fomo Football Club is third from the bottom on the league table and is at risk of relegation.
