Blantyre city Mayor, Wild Ndipo has today officially opened Makalanga bridge in Machinjiri, Blantyre, 9 months after it was wrecked due to cyclone Freddy.
Speaking during the opening ceremony Ndipo expressed joy saying people will now run their businesses with ease and run other important activities normally.
The bridge has been refurbished at a cost of about K960 million.
Meanwhile, according to the contractor heading the project, Dan Chale who is also the managing director for Dec Construction, said the remaining work will be completed by the end of November.
