Deputy Minister Calls for Improved Coordination Among Government Officials.

Date:

Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture Owen Chomanika has urged government officials in district councils to avoid misusing their positions and instead work towards facilitating development activities. He made this call during a quarterly coordination meeting in Mponela, Dowa district, highlighting that lack of coordination among officials hinders progress and causes suffering for villagers.
Chomanika emphasized the need for government officials and NGOs to collaborate for seamless project implementation. His sentiments were echoed by Hadrod Mkandawire, Executive Director of the Malawi Government Association, who acknowledged the existing coordination gap in ministries. Mkandawire committed to encouraging local council members to enhance coordination moving forward.
