CAVWOC Supports 400 Households in Chiradzulu with Lean Period Cash Transfer

Date:

The Centre for Alternatives for Victimized Women and Children (CAVWOC) has provided a one-off cash transfer of K100,000 to 400 households in Chiradzulu district, mainly from Traditional Authorities Nkalo and Kadewere. The initiative, sponsored by Action Aid, aims to support vulnerable households in buying food and engaging in small economic livelihoods during the lean period.
Beneficiaries include the elderly, child-headed households, and persons with disabilities. One recipient, Frossy Somanje, an elderly woman from Group Village Headman Somanje, used the cash to purchase fertilizer.
Launched in October, the program is also being implemented in Phalombe and Nsanje districts.
