GOVERNMENT TO START DISTRIBUTING MAIZE SOON.Richard Chimwendo Banda sits at the rally.

The ruling party Malawi Congress Party says it is set control the hunger problem which has hit the country.

This was revealed by the Minister of local government Richard Chimwendo Banda who is also the director of youth for MCP on Sunday August 6 2023, during a political rally at Kwiputi Community ground in Mangochi District.

Banda said the government is aware of challenges Malawians are currently facing and said measures are being put into place to curb the problem, one of which is the maize distribution which will take place in all regions across the country.

“No one will die of hunger in this country”. Banda exclaimed.

He added that the Tonse government will not spare the youth in the Eastern region, but assist them by introducing financial services that will help them accumulate loans to start their own businesses.

In his final remarks he urged Chiefs to take a leading role in managing the Maize distribution exercise as most of the time Chiefs get sidelined in most developmental activities.

On his side during the event, Foster Mtandama Regional Chairman for Malawi Congress Party commended for being the only President standing against nepotism, as the Tonse government has recruited some notable government officials from the Eastern region.

He added that the Tonse government has among many things managed to curb the electricity problem, a thing which was a big challenge in the previous regime.

On his part Deputy Secretary general Gerald Kazembe urged people to support the current government. He said MCP government has a lot of plans to develop Mangochi.
