Dr. Matthew Mtumbuka has officially announced his candidacy for the UTM Party presidency ahead of the party’s upcoming National Elective Convention, scheduled for November this year.
Speaking at a press conference held on Tuesday at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, Dr. Mtumbuka expressed his readiness to lead Malawi toward transformative development if elected. He outlined his vision to improve the nation’s healthcare system, ensure food security, and promote agriculture and mining to benefit the local population.
Dr. Mtumbuka also emphasized plans to stimulate economic growth by reducing taxes and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
“This is the time to act. We want to realize the dreams of our forefathers,” he remarked in closing.
